Dear Praying Friend,

On Thursday, September 22, 2005 at 4:07 A.M. our third grand baby, Makenna Joy Alverson, “discovered America.” Jonathan and Melissa proudly displayed her in that early morning hour as she weighed in at 7' 9'’ and stretched to 19 inches. Of course, she is beautiful, just like her . . . well, you guess. Thank God both mommy, baby and dadd y are doing fine. We praise the Lord for these grandchildren and look forward to many more. We love them, spoil them and send them home, Amen!

Regarding the ministry we continue to see many saved in our military churches. In spite of long work hours and a stressful work load the folks in our military churches are still excited about serving the Lord. The continued deployments and long absences from loved ones are most difficult, but these are special people who love their country and arise to the occasion. I marvel at their commitment, courage and challenge as they proudly serve our country, willing to sacrifice whatever to keep us free! We should have these great men and women on our daily prayer lists. May God grant them divine protection!

In Europe we are now beginning to see some of the promised realignment of the military stationed there. We are watching closely and making our adjustments accordingly. I have often said that flexibility is a major word to describe Military Missions and our missionaries are surely experiencing it now. We are trying to have men ready to go to these new bases which are about to be opened up in some of the former Eastern Bloc countries. In addition to this we are looking at starting two other churches in Germany as these moves take place. We desperately need more missionaries with a burden to work with our military. Right now we have a real need for a retired military man to do a special ministry working out of Italy. Please be in much prayer for these matters.

In closing let me give a brief update on Jenny’s battle with the cancer. Her doctor told us yesterday that her body has taken about all the chemo it can stand for now and that we should possibly look at some other treatments. Her CA-125 jumped to a record high of 2500 this week, up 600 from the previous week. Needless to say, this concerns us greatly and we need much prayer to know what to do from here. Thank you for your heartfelt concern, your constant expressions of love and for your faithful prayers. We are absolutely convinced that this has made the difference in her battle which is now in the fourth year. God bless you and please know that we love you and thank God for your friendship and fellowship. Only our Lord knows what lies ahead but our trust is totally in His sovereign love and Lordship. Please continue to pray. We love you and remain..

In His Service,

Jeff & Jenny Alverson
