March/April, 2007
Dear Praying Friends,
I am in Nimitz, WV in a missions conference at this writing, and I do have some great news.
WEDDING NEWS
As most of you know these last few years have been the most difficult years of my life. My dear wife of 33 years went home to be with the Lord last year on April 3rd after suffering with ovarian cancer for almost four years. You went through those hard times with me, praying, consoling, giving, etc and I will always love you for it. The love I had for her will forever be sealed in my heart. However, life goes on and God always has a perfect plan.
Last August the blessed Lord providentially crossed my path with a Godly lady named Joyce Mullis. She has been a missionary in New York City for the past 27 years faithfully serving the Lord. I was certainly not anticipating what has happened but since we met, God has put a deep love in our hearts for each other. We share the same goals, desires and ambitions for life. Therefore, on May 18, 2007, 6:00 PM, at Northside Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC (her home church), we will become man and wife. We surely covet your prayers as we begin this new phase of our lives together. We will live in Rossville, GA and continue the ministry of Military Missions. The main change will be in her ministry. As my wife, she will travel with me most everywhere I go. Needless to say, this has brought about great excitement to both of our hearts and we are really looking forward to the ministry God has for us in the future. I can hardly wait for you to meet her. You will surely learn to love her as I have (just in a different way, Amen).
WONDERFUL NEWS
Anita and Sean have informed us that we will be having another grandbaby in August. They have two boys now. This will be their third and, of course, our fourth grandchild. Jon and Melissa have a little girl now 19 months. Please pray for Anita as she has had a history of problematic pregnancies. They live in Walkerton, IN where Sean is the pastor of First Baptist Church and doing a great job.
WORK NEWS
What a blessed joy to be a military missionary! My heart is just absolutely thrilled to be able to work with these men and women of God who have given their lives to ministering to our service personnel and their families. May God bless them for the sacrifices they are making to reach those who wear our nation’s uniform and help them to follow on to know the Lord even in a greater way. They are doing such a fine job and any of them are worthy of your support. Especially pray for The Mark Lancaster Family who just arrived on the field in Germany this past Monday. Thank you for your love, prayers and faithful support of this Military Ministry. I love you and remain…
In Christ’s Service,
Jeff Alverson
